N.Y. couple dies of carbon monoxide poisoning

The Times Herald Record

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — An elderly couple was found dead in their Cornwall home today, apparently victims of carbon monoxide poisoning.

The husband and wife were found in separate room early this afternoon in their home on Perry Road. Their names have not been released and the time of their deaths has yet to be determined.

Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that stops the blood from absorbing oxygen and causes asphyxiation. It causes headaches, dizziness and flu-like symptoms. In high concentrations it can be fatal.
