Dräger Announces New Pac 7000 Personal Single Gas Detector

PITTSBURGH - Draeger Safety, Inc. today announced the new Dräger Pac 7000, a single gas personal monitor.  It can reliably warn of the presence of harmful concentrations of carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide, or oxygen.  The instrument features an impact-proof housing and is resistant to corrosive chemicals.  The new XXS sensors react in a flash, immediately indicating any gas hazards on the screen, which continuously displays the concentration.

Compact design - easy to operate
With its compact design, Pac 7000 is made-to-order for personal monitoring in daily work activities.  The display shows all information in large numerals or symbols.  In case of an alarm, or at the push of a button, the display is backlit for better readability.  In addition, the peak concentration 8-hour exposure (TWA) and the short term exposure limit (STEL) over the measurement period is available.  If the selected alarm thresholds or TWA /STEL concentrations are exceeded, the instrument warns the user with audible, visual, and vibrating alarms.  The user can easily replace battery and sensor when their useful life is over.

Bump test mode
The Pac 7000 is equipped with the new bump test mode, just like all the members of the Pac family.  When a bump test (function test) needs to be performed, a notice icon appears on the screen.  The test interval can be selected by the user.  The result is saved in the instrument's memory.  The Dräger Bump Test Station is available for easy performance of the bump test.

Documentation of data logger
Pac 7000 features a data logger, in which concentrations and events are stored together with their respective dates and times.  The intervals at which peak concentrations are documented are adjustable.

If a one-minute interval is set, the data logger has a capacity of about five days.  The stored data can be downloaded via a PC via Dräger Pac Vision or Dräger CC Vision software and viewed using Dräger GasVision software.

Calibration and configuration
Pac 7000 features a menu from which the bump test mode, fresh air calibration, and span calibration can be selected.  The instrument is equipped with an IR interface and can be linked to a PC via the connecting cradle or E-Cal system.  The instrument has a user-adjustable operating timer to enforce calibration or inspection intervals.
