Brush fire hospitalizes Calif. firefighter, forces evacuation

RUBIDOUX, Calif. — A fire near Palm View Motel evacuated guests and resulted in one firefighter being transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion.

A vehicle fire started the blaze, which spread to brush and an abandoned building.

The firefighter, whose name was not released, was treated and released and would be out of work for one day, Riverside County Fire Department Capt. Jim Fuller.
