Ohio woman's death could prompt change in CO detector law

Local12.com

COVINGTON, Ohio. — The death of a woman from carbon monoxide poisoning could prompt a big change in one local city.

Covington city leaders could vote next month to require carbon monoxide detectors in all apartments. Local 12 reporter Paul Adler talked with the Covington fire department who wants the detectors to be as popular as smoke detectors.

The detectors cost between $20 and $100. They detect the odorless, tasteless and potentially deadly gas. Firefighters like Karl Chalk want carbon monoxide detectors to be required in all homes because, he says, he's tired of seeing people die.
