Texas city fire experts remind about carbon monoxide dangers

Lubbock Fire Marshal Garett Nelson says firing up a propane cooker indoors is like smothering the oxygen right out of the room.   "Never do it in an enclosed space," said Nelson.

Fifteen people were celebrating a birthday inside a storage unit.  They were frying fish using propane and ended up inhaling too much carbon monoxide.

"Anything that's producing an open flame is also producing carbon monoxide," said Nelson
