3 firefighters treated at Ky. apartment fire

By FireRescue1 Staff

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Three firefighters required treatment while fighting an apartment fire in Kentucky on Wednesday.

A firefighter who had touched a hot stair railing suffered blisters on his hands and two other firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion after about an hour of attacking the fire in Okolona, according to local TV station WHAS.

No occupants were inside the apartment at the time of the fire, which is under investigation.

It took 30 firefighters about 30 minutes to get control of the blaze, Okolona Fire Marshal Mike Allendorf said.
